Do you ever get that feeling that you want to write something - but just don't know what to write? That's how I'm feeling tonight. I feel that there is so much on my mind - so much that I'm going through and have been through this week that I need to write it all out, but just don't know where to start.
For starters, I just got back from a meeting that Riley and I had with Henri's Music in Green Bay. Actually we met with the owner of the company at Jade Place tonight for a few drinks here in Manitowoc and we had a great meeting. It looks like they are interested in being a part of Season Two, which would be great so that we can recommend and promote a music store that supports us.
After our meeting, Riley and I had dinner at Applebees - which by the way is always good. Actually, I used to work at Applebees as a Host. It was pretty cool ... at least for a while. I don't know - I'm just not that found of working on hourly wages. I would rather be doing my own thing - but everyone has to start somewhere. Actually, one of my favorite places that I used to work was at Beerntsen's. The people there were wonderful and the job itself was enjoyable, which is always a plus.
One thing that I've learned in life is that you if you don't enjoy your job, your personal life will not be releaxing. I'm blessed to have a wonderful job as an Advertising Consultant for WOMT / WQTC along with running EdgeStar Media, LLC with Riley.
EdgeStar Media, LLC (also known as EdgeStar) is the company that we formed shortly before the finale of Season One. It's a company that has many different responsibilities and tasks. From a booking agency to "Lakeshore's Rising Stars!" to Entertainment & Talent Consultants ... it's the utlimate media enterprise.
Anyways, back to where this post was orginally going ... like I said - this week has been crazy. We had a few issues / difficuilties that came up regarding our sound and lighting situation at the Capitol Civic Centre, but luckily, all is taken care of. We had a rehearsal with our singers on Wednesday night for our 'Encore Show' and we will be rehearsing again on Saturday. Work at the radio station was somewhat stressful - but not unexcpected. You see, Christmas is one of the busiest times for advertising. Everyone wants to promote Christmas sales - which is great ... but my personal passion is to remind people that Christmas is not about gifts / money - but about celebrating the fact that God himself came down from Heaven to be with us.
That's the dedication of our 'Encore Show.' It's an opportunity for us as EdgeStar to hopefully make a difference. If you read our mission station for "Lakeshore's Rising Stars!", it states that part of our mission is to give back to our community and make a difference. That's why chosen to donate 10% of our ticket sales to Lakeshore Interfaith Hospitality Network - Manitowoc County's only homeless shelter. It's also our opportunity to proclaim our faith in Jesus Christ.
We've probably all heard it before ... "Jesus is the reason for the season" - and it truly is how we feel. A wise man once said, "You have not lived until you have given love, joy and peace to one of His." This same man prayed a pray that has become our Christmas Prayer - "Fahter of the fatherless, be with your sons and daughters this Christmas."
If you have not had a chance to purchase your tickets for our 'Encore Show', stop down or call the Capitol Civic Centre Box Office. We had a few main floor seats still available along with balcony seats. However, if you are interested in winning a pair of front row tickets, read our previous post about our contest. The deadline is Wednesday, December 13.
We also have a contest going on right now exclusively on our blog. It's our December Winter Bash Promotion where you could win a pair of lift tickets to Cascade Mountain. Details are on a previous post as well.
One final contest that we have - or actually are designing is the chance to win a pair of free season tickets for "Lakeshore's Rising Stars! 2007." All of this information is available on our blog.
We are dedicated to provide you with frequent updates and contests. After all, its because of you our fans why we do what we do.
I'm curious, what do you think about our ticket prices for 07. Send us an email to edgestarmedia@mac.com.
Anyways, it's pretty late and I'm falling asleep at my computer, therefore I'm going home. Thank you for your support and for checking out our blog. Like I said, keep checking back for frequent updates about our 'Encore Show', season two, contests and more. Also, please be sure to patronize our sponosrs. They are the ones who financially allow us to do "Lakeshore's Rising Stars!"
Have a blessed evening and we will keep you posted. God bless you, your family and your loved ones.
Remember - Jesus loves you and it is by grace that we have been saved. Go, make a difference and be a hero. Reach for the stars and allow God to guide you in every step of the way. He is the one real thing who will never leave you nor forsake you. This Christmas season, I hope you get to experience more of God's unfailing love and forgiviness.
Like always ... follow your passion.
