It's 6:48 PM, Saturday night and I'm at the studio recording tomorrow's "Stand Up!" broadcast. If you get the opportunity, tune into "Stand Up!" tomorrow beginning at 7:00 AM for an unbeleivable Christmas Celebration Broadcast of "Stand Up!" Normally, our radio ministry broadcasts from 7:00 AM - 7:30 AM every Sunday, however all month long we're broadcasting from 7:00 AM - 8:00 AM!
Anyways, today I finished up my Christmas shopping in Appleton. Well, actually I'm almost finished. I still have a few things I need to pick up - but at least I know what I'm going to get! (It's kind of crazy for me to be almost done by December 9 - seeing is how I usually wait last minute, but whatever - less stress for me later!)
Which brings me to this evening's "post topic(ish)" ... why is it that one of the most holiest days is maybe the most stressful time of the year? It's actually pretty sad if you ask me. I mean, think about it - we have so many "things" that we quote-unquote have to do, but really - Christmas (like I've said before) is not about that stuff. It's about celebrating the fact that God himself came down to be with us and we're suppose to take this opportunity and connect with Jesus. But, I guess - as long as there's Christmas sales and all - we'll always hear and see messages that can distract us. However, we must remember why we celebrate Christmas and the spirit of love that's in the air this time of the year ... well, I say, let's keep it going all year round. Let's rise up and shine. Be a hero ... make a difference. Let's encourage each other not to get distracted or stressed out during this most blessed time of the year and truly let our love shine to others; not in gifts given - but in the spirit of peace, hope and love.
With all that said ... I better get going.
Thanks again for all those who participated in our December's Winter Bash Promotion. Coming up next month, we're doubling our prize and giving away 4 lift tickets and 4 tubing passes to Cascade Mountain. Also, don't forget about our Free Ticket Giveaway for the Encore Show! Deadline is coming up this week. (For details, read previous posts.)
Good night everyone. Thanks for checking out our blog. Until tomorrow - God bless you!
(And don't forget to tune into "Stand Up!" tomorrow on WQTC - 102.3 FM starting at 7:00 AM)
