Airshow Chili Bowl Returns!

The Chili Bowl is back, with a low admission price! The fifth annual Chili Bowl fundraiser to support the Thunder on the Lakeshore Airshow will be held at Tony’s Pizza on Sunday afternoon, May sixth. The event includes six outstanding entries in the Chili Bowl contest, along with an exceptional collection of prizes which will be available as auction, raffle items and door prizes. The entire event will raise funds for the airshow coming up June 2nd and 3rd at the Manitowoc County Airport, and the admission price this year is just five dollars per person. That ticket price includes chili contest samples and other munchies.

Prizes that are available include unique items like rides in a WWII fighter plane, helicopter and airplane rides, a romantic hot air balloon champagne breakfast flight for two, corporate business charter flights and flight lessons. It will also feature Packer, Bucks and Brewers tickets, autographed footballs, car ferry trips, gourmet dinners, wine & cheese parties and much more. Also available will be two front row VIP tickets to the finale of "Lakeshore's Rising Stars!", an aerial photograph of your business or home, and an Airshow VIP Weekend package.

Contestants submitting their chili for the Chili Bowl title include Tony Burgarino of Tony’s Pizza, Jim Peterson of the Cawley Company, Harold Sumter of GKN Sinter Metals, Kurt Jansen of Nesco/Metal Ware, Chris Akgulian from Valley Mobile Shredding, and Judy Lango, former co-owner of the McDonald’s restaurant in Manitowoc. Those attending the event will be sampling the contest chili and enjoying festivities including the auction, raffle, and door prizes, along with Cinco de Mayo drink specials and snacks.

The Chili Bowl will be from two to six pm at Tony’s Pizza on Sunday May 6th. Tickets may be purchased at the door, or in advance at Tony’s, Century 21 Action Realty, Kathie’s Stage Door Pub or Lakeshore Aviation at the airport. Admission is only $5.00!
