Last Night...

My apologies for not updating the blog sooner than this but thus far this morning has been extremely busy and hectic for me at the radio station, and responding to dozens of emails regarding last night's show and this morning's 'REPLAY' talkshow.

Anyways ...

During the final round of the competition, the 'Top 5' simply stated, ROCKED THE STAGE! The first half consisted of songs that they themselves chose with no specific guidelines or theme.

Jeremiah started the evening off performing "Dead or Alive." Following Jeremiah was Amanda with "Your Daddy's Son" - which has been credited by the judges as her best performance all season. Then, Carli entertained the audience with a song from the musical, RENT, called "Out Tonight." Kari Sepnafski chose "Anyway" by Martina McBride and Larnell Moore ended the first half with "I Melt."

THe second half consisted of the songs that were chosen by the judges and voted upon by the audience. Debbie chose "Kiss from a Rose" for Jeremiah. Following Jeremiah's performance, Amanda sang the one-hit wonder, "Stay" by Lisa Loeb, chosen by Steve. Another song that Steve chose was Carli's "Hopelessly Devoted to You" from GREASE. Kari performed Debbie's choice, "Before He Cheats" by Carrie Underwood and Larnell ended the evening by singing "If You Could Only See" by Tonic, again chosen by Steve.

The judges points went as accordingly:

1st Half
1) Jeremiah with 6,900
2 Larnell with 4,200
3) Amanda with 5,400
4) Kari with 300

2nd Half
1) Larnell with 8,000
2) Carli with 5,700
3) Kari with 2,100
4) Jeremiah with 900
5) Amanda with 100

Overall, the total judges points for the evening went as followed:

1) Larnell with 12,200
2) Jeremiah with 7,800
3) Carli with 5,700
4) Amanda with 5,500
5) Kari with 2,400

Combing the past three weeks JUDGES POINTS ONLY, here are the current rankings:

1) Larnell with 34,000
2) Jeremiah with 28,400
3) Kari with 16,100
4) Carli with 14,300
5) Amanda with 8,000

Again, this does not include the audience / public votes from the previous three weeks.

NOTE: Last year going into the finale, Jessica Plansky was not the leader of judge's points. Therefore, remember that you the fans will be the deciding factor with who wins the grand prize of $10,000.00!

Now more than ever, these finalists need you to get out and vote! There are 23 different sponsor voting locations which can be found on the "Voting" page of www.lakeshoresrisingstars.com. You have until Noon this coming Sunday, August 19 to vote! Each vote is worth 5 points and will only help the finalist who you want to win!

Please remember that you can vote only once per ballot at the voting locations and you MUST fill everything out completely. We would hate to see more "invalid" votes that could of changed the final ranking...

The finale is one week away and tickets are now available by calling or stopping by the Capitol Civic Centre Box Office. During the finale, we will welcome back on stage all 'Top 10' finalists! You do not want to miss what we have planned for the BIGGEST SHOW OF THE SEASON!
