Last Minute Audition Information

This summer's most anticipated event in northeast Wisconsin is only days away ... Are You Ready?!?

EdgeStar Media along with WOMT / WQTC Radio presents season two of "Lakeshore's Rising Stars!", live on stage and on-air at the Capitol Civic Centre in Manitowoc! Producers Terry Stevenson and Riley Haupt are looking to find Wisconsin's newest, most talent amateur singers who can sing, dance and entertain an audience. If you think you got what it takes to be a 'rising star' and would like the opportunity to win up to $10,000.00, check this out...

Round 1 and 2 auditions are set for this Saturday, June 16 at the Capitol Civic Centre. Doors will open at 8:00 AM for those who have pre-registered. After each pre-registered contestant who is in line by 8:00 AM has completed their audition, walk-ins will then be accepted up until 1:00 PM. (PLEASE NOTE: Sometime at around 11:00 AM, the doors to the Civic Centre will be locked for a short thirty minute break. After that, we will resume with the auditions.)

The first two rounds of the audition process will be held in a private audition room. Family members and friends of each contestant will be asked to wait in a designated area for Rounds 1 and 2. In each audition room, there will be one audition judge along with their assistant. (PLEASE NOTE: The producers and/or a photographer maybe in an audition room while an audition is taking place.)

Even though the producers encourage each contestant to come prepared to sing between thirty and sixty seconds, each audition judge will determine the actual length the auditions. Each contestant should also come prepared with several different styles of music as the audition judges may ask for a second or third song.

If a contestant advances past their first audition, they will move onto round 2 and perform in front of a different audition judge. (PLEASE NOTE: Contestants may choose to sing their same song selections for Round 1 as well as for Round 2.)

If a contestant advances both audition judges on Saturday, June 16, they will be invited back to the final two audition rounds on Sunday, June 17 again at the Capitol Civic Centre.

IMPORTANT ... Contestants advancing to Sunday MUST come with a "ready-to-print" bio for distribution, if selected as a 'Top 10' finalist. These bios will be printed in each week's program, as well as posted online at www.lakeshoresrisingstars.com.

IMPORTANT ... Contestants advancing to Sunday also must be aware that a quick photo shoot will follow immediatly after the 'Top 10' are chosen. The producers encourage each contestant auditioning on Sunday, June 17 to wear an outfit that is approprite for this particular photo shoot as these photos will be used to future newspaper articles, weekly printed program covers, online promotions and more.

Unlike Rounds 1 and 2, Rounds 3 and 4 will take place on stage with an individual microhone in front of a small to medium size audience. This audience will consist of those contestants still involved with the audition process, any friend or family member that comes along with each contestant, selected sponsors, volunteers of the competition along with the final audition judges.

The final audition judges will consist of the two producers (Terry Stevenson and Riley Haupt), the three main judges (Jennifer Laymen, Debbie Seehafer and Tim Strews) along with an additional audition judge.

It would be benficial for contestants to come prepared with different several different song selections for Rounds 3 and 4. Again, the length of a contestant's audition will be determined by the final audition judges.

After Round 3, there will be thirty to sixty minute lunch break where all contestants and their friends or family members will be asked to leave the Civic Centre. (PLEASE NOTE: The time of the break and the length of the break will be determinded that day.)

Once the final round is completed and the 'Top 10' are chosen, the producers will meet with the finalists to discuss other important aspects of the competition.

Each 'Top 10' finalist will receive two complimentary season tickets along with a CD of 1,000+ song titles. Each finalist must submit their top three song choices per theme by Monday, June 18 at 5:00 PM. The first rehearsal is scheduled for Wednesday, June 20, beginning at 12:00 PM. All rehearsals will take place at the Capitol Civic Centre.
